INSPIRE YOUTH TYNE AND WEAR work with children and young people from 5-19 years of age, our Junior Sessions start at age 5-11 years, Inters sessions are from age 11-14 years, and Girls Group from age 12-16 years.
In our youth clubs, we deliver different activities which include arts and crafts, sports and games, cooking, and free play. All of our activities are youth-led which gives the young people the opportunity to express what they would like to do. Our youth clubs are a fun, safe environment that aims to deter young people from ASB (anti-social behaviour) on the streets. As part of our fighting poverty initiative, we provide every child with a snack to support their nutrition. We hope as a child comes in as a junior at 5 years old, they will self-progress throughout each of our different groups, and then onto our young volunteering programme.
In our youth clubs we ensure young people who have additional needs have that 1-1 support from one of our experienced workers. We work with children and young people who have dynamic needs from mental health issues, trauma, CSE (child sexual exploitation), learning difficulties, and NEET young people (not in employment, education and training). We work closely with other organisations to enhance young people's opportunities by doing projects like The Key, LGBTQIA+ workshops, #THISGIRLCAN, and so on.
Inspire Youth have teamed up with the Newcastle United Foundation and have sessions on weekly for young people aged 11-19 years old, this is a great partnership which allows us to provide amazing activities in an outstanding venue.
Taking young people off the streets and providing amazing opportunities, team building exercises, various sport activities, state of the art gaming rooms, group intervention meetings & much more. We even now offer a junior youth club weekly for all young people aged 5-11, this is catered for people that age just like our other junior youth clubs.
In a world where ASB (anti social behaviour) can be common knowledge for young people, it is our responsibility to ask why. The fact is that a lot of young people have northing better to do. A lot of young people come from low income families who cant afford to keep their children entertained all the time so the young people entertain themselves unsupervised.
During our sessions we get the young people involved in intervention work, things such as knife crime awareness, team bonding exercises, mind maps on behaviour and rules inside & outside of sessions. The young people are rewarded for their good behaviour and engagement in the intervention work, we provide treats such as trips outside of the session and takeaway food every now and then.
Our junior youth club with NUCASTLE is a outstanding session which is catered for young people aged 5-11 years old, we do various activities with them such as multiple sports, arts & crafts and all sorts of fun group games/ activities which will enrich them. We strive to create a safe environment where our young people can come, feel safe and have fun!
Here at Inspire Youth we offer outstanding sport sessions in our youth clubs. We have staff trained with a sports background therefore can offer young people the best quality games and of course the most fun! We believe physical fitness is essential for young people, it's also a great tool for team building and overcoming challenges.
In our youth clubs we play a large range of sport games based on what the young people like to do such as Football, Basketball, Cricket, Dodgeball, Bench ball, Rounders, Boxercise, Badmington, Tennis and many more! We like to pride ourselves on our fun & fair game play during our youth clubs where everyone can get involved, win or lose we have fun!
We also offer a large range of Arts & Crafts activities for the young people in our sessions, we have staff with career backgrounds in graphic design, Art and others, this gives us the skills set to provide the young people with a large range of crafts each week which will elevate their creative side. We do a large range of crafts such as drawing, painting, 3D modelling, Canvas painting, nature art, card making, sand art and much more! We like to keep things new and exciting by changing the crafts we do each week, so the young people never get bored.
We like to improve the life skills of the young people who attend our youth clubs by offering the opportunity to cook various foods if they choose to. We offer cooking opportunities weekly, those who wish to join in are welcome, we cook many foods such as, pasta, pizza, sandwiches, wraps, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, brownies, biscuit decorating etc. We feel this is important to include in our youth clubs as it gets the young people involved in a group activity and gives them skills which they can take home and use in everyday life.
